And The Fun Continues After The Bath ...

A few balloons do the trick! ;)

Girly Girl

It's obvious, isn't it? Taidyn wants boobies. :--))

So, tonight, Cass helped Taidyn make some fake ones out of the bubble bath. Silly! But, as you can see by the photo, Taidyn LOVED it!

Over the past few months, it's become clear that Taidyn REALLY likes being a girl. She wants her finger nails painted all the time, loves to prance around in heels and gets super-excited when she gets to wear a dress. I guess it's only natural for her to want to look like a girl, too, right?

Have a good night!!

Future Soccer Star?

Taidyn played soccer for the first time this week.

Well, sort of.

On Thursday, Taidyn began Little Kickers soccer, a program for children ages 3-5. It was quite the spectacle, that's for sure. Taidyn looked the part: She donned a pair of shorts and a jersey, shinguards and sneakers. Did she play the part? Not really. :)

Let's just say that the coaches know Taidyn's name. It was, "Taidyn, come here!," or "No, Taidyn, kick the ball," or "Where are you going, Taidyn?" But it wasn't all bad. Taidyn proved an expert at sitting on the soccer ball -- even when others were trying to kick it!!!

At the end of practice, one of the other parents approached me and asked, "Do you see any World Cup potential?" I responded, "Does the World Cup have an event for sitting on the ball?" ;)

We're going to try again Tuesday. Maybe Taidyn will kick the ball this time.

Strike A Pose.....

So, this weekend, we took Taidyn to Loveland, Colo., to buy her a whole new fall wardrobe! It was so much fun! While we were in the fitting room, there was a mirror hanging on the wall and she was striking poses left and right (one of those times you kick yourself for not having a camera)! The little prima donna cracks us up!

One of our favorite finds was a brown beanie hat with a brim on it. Absolutely adorable! She also left the store with a set of bracelets that she won't let out of her sight now. Check out the photos!

And, of course, we found lots of really cute outfits for really great prices since we hit the back-to-school sale. The excitement of the day really wore out Taidyn, too. She actually let us sleep until 10:15 a.m. today! :)

Once we finally got moving today, we took Taidyn to get her hair trimmed. She looks so much better now that her bangs are not hanging in her face. It took a few times for the stylist to actually get the chance to cut them (Taidyn did not like her combing the bangs down in her face) ... but she finally sat still long enough for the lady to cut them off.

Even though the weather was surprisingly rainy this weekend, we had a GREAT time!!!!

Can Barbie Fly?

A few weeks ago, while on vacation in California, Taidyn got her first Barbie as a gift from her cousin Valerie.

And, let me tell you, Taidyn loves Barbie. She sleeps with her every night. She takes her to daycare on most days. She likes to bring her in the car for trips to the grocery store or gas station. She talks to her, hugs her and kisses her.

In fact, Barbie is so popular that she is the featured attraction of a new game. Each night, without fail, Taidyn comes up to me, smiles her cute little smile and says, "Daddy, let's fly Barbie on her head!"

This Barbie is dressed for the beach. What she really needs is wings, or at least a cape.

The game consists of Taidyn hurling Barbie across the room. And, worse for Barbie, Taidyn seems to especially enjoy it when the doll lands right on her head.

When that happens, Taidyn will squeal with delight and urge me to say, "Oooowwwww!," "Oooohhh, Barbie's hurt!" or "Oooohhhh no, Barbie landed on her head!"

As silly as it sounds, I do say those things. So, yeah, Taidyn has me wrapped around her pinkie. Then again, I don't think that's anything that any of us didn't already know!

As she retrieves Barbie from the floor, Taidyn will almost always say, "Ooohhhh Barbie, are you OK? I didn't mean to hurt you!"

I doubt Barbie believes her because, seconds later, she's again flying through the air. And not with the greatest of ease.

Hang in there, Barbie, help is on the way! For Christmas, Taidyn will be getting a Barbie Mariposa, a newfangled butterfly fairy who looks like a Barbie ... except for the HUGE pair of wings on her back.

Heed my warning, Mariposa: You're gonna need those wings!

First Things First

Hi everybody, and welcome to our blog! Here, you'll be able to keep up with us and read all about the adventures of America's favorite 3-year-old (well, OK, maybe she's not America's favorite ... yet) Taidyn. ;)

After reading the continuing blog of our good friends, Meg and Brent Talbot (and Baby Drew!), we were inspired to create a blog of our own. We'll do our best to keep everybody updated on all of the cool things that are happening in our family. We'll throw in a few pictures along the way, too.

Today, on this first blog, we want to share a big "first" from Taidyn's life. She had her first dentist's appointment yesterday, and, wow, was she good! She didn't once cry. She didn't throw a fit. She didn't disobey. She laid back in the chair, opened her mouth and let the hygienist (Christine), who is now her new best friend, and the dentist count and clean her teeth. We were so impressed!!!

So was Christine, who told us that she hoped we'd have "a million more kids just like" Taidyn. Um, well, no. We're not having a million more kids. That's because we think we got a one-in-a-million child with Taidyn!

That's all for now. We'll be back again soon!
